Jeffy just celebrated his 4th birthday. I can't believe 4 years has gone by so quickly. He is our eighth child, seventh boy and my first C-section. Before God gave us a big family, I wanted to adopt an Asian baby but that never happened. Jefferson was born with dark, almost black eyes, a head full of black hair and the most beautiful complexion. A wonderful photographer in our area put together
THIS VIDEO along with his newborn photo shoot.
He totally fell in love with the OLD GRINCH cartoon this Christmas. He watched it everyday from the end of November until mid January. Daddy asked him why he loved the Grinch so much. He said because no one like the Grinch and he didn't have any friends. He told us, "I will be his frand." EVERDAY he told me that he wanted a Grinch party and a Grinch blanket for his birthday. I ordered the material from fabric.com and quilted a colorful, soft, big Grinch quilt for him, complete with Whoville, Cindy Lou Who and sweet little Max on it.

I was reading to him at bedtime last week and during the conversation he told me he had a nightmare about the Grinch. UH-OH. "Jefferson" I asked, "are you scared of your Grinch blankey?" He looked down at the floor like he didn't want to tell me. Slowly, he shook his head yes. I melted. "Oh, I'm soooo sorry. Do you want me to take your Grinch blanket and pillow and put it up in my room?" Once again, looking down at the floor, he shook his head yes. "I want you to put it in you room and I can pway wif it in the daytime." Oh man, I felt horrible. That night we went went back to his old, faithful, non-scary Raggedy Ann and Andy Quilt. Oh well, I'll put it up as a keepsake. Then one day, when he comes over with his kids, I will bring it out, cover them up with it and tell them the story of the SCARY GRINCH BLANKEY.
Happy 4th Birthday Jefferson!
